'Say You Can'

 Foundation

In honor of Sean Gilmore, The Gilmore 'Say You Can' Foundation serves the Clever, Missouri Community by providing financial support in the form of scholarships, donations, or goods to students, teams, schools, events, businesses, and/or individuals.

Our Story:

The Gilmore Family is a HUGE family!! My ex-husband Dwight and I were married for over 20 years and had 6 children together while Dwight had 3 sons from a previous marriage. Between us there are 2 girls and 7 boys! Some of these children are now grown, married, and have children of their own. Those years of growth were the best (and busiest) of our lives, and we loved almost every moment!!  :)

As parents, you worry. I worked in the ER which made it worse. I waited for the bad--car crash, illness, drugs, something...but we never suspected suicide.

On March 5th, 2021, our 18 year old son, Sean Gilmore, took his life in the woods by our home. We were/are devastated. We will never know why, only that he is gone, and we miss him dreadfully.

Out of that sadness and dark, we needed to create some light. It took us a year to do it, but on March 5th, 2022, (one year exactly from the day Sean left) the IRS approved our non-profit 501(c)3 Foundation!  [Thanks Sean!!]

We have a simple mission statement:

In honor of Sean Gilmore, the Gilmore Say You Can Foundation serves the Clever, Missouri Community by providing financial support in the form of scholarships, donations, or goods to students, teams, schools, events, businesses, and/or individuals.

It is our hope to help others in need...and bring some light to other lives. In honor of Sean. He was always smiling so it only seems fair to bring smiles to others.

We hope you will help to honor Sean, and we hope you will support our endeavors!

Thanks for listening to our story!
